What's wrong with my Seagate Game Drive?

I’m sorry to hear your Seagate external hard drive is not working as expected. Based on your post description, it’s likely the drive has a hardware issue.
If you still have a warranty on it, I highly encourage you to contact Seagate and start a replacement request.

Connecting the drive to a PC and not have it be detected immediately like other PC based drives is normal behaviour. The drive will not show because it's not formatted to PC.

With the drive connected to a PC. Right click on the Windows Start button and select Disk Management. If the drive is functional, it will show in Disk Management. Note: If Windows asks you to initialise the drive, this will remove the Xbox formatting.

Try formatting the drive again using the Windows defaults. Then connect the drive back to your console again. The drive will be empty again unfortunately, but at least you may have a working drive.

Did you buy the Seagate expansion card or a Seagate hard drive? The arrows mean the games are on a device that can't run them and they need to be moved back to the internal drive in order to play them. If what you bought is not the Seagate expansion card, it won't run those games, it'll only store them.

I recommend Seagate drives. They are reasonably priced and usually very reliable. I have two 2TB Seagate drives attached to my Xbox for games and another 1TB drive for movies etc.
