    Smart Glass

    Smart glass doesn't seem to be working as well as it used to. For instance I cannot use smart glass to control the cursor when using Edge any more or I cannot navigate Netflix. Anyone else having problems with Smart Glass?

    I cannot be download X1 SmartGlass at 8.1 Surface RT

    So at my Windows Surface RT Tablet, i cannot download XboxOne Smart Glass.

    The Windows Search Engine cannot found Xbox One Smart Glass, the Serchengine find always only Xbox 360 Smart Glasses. So if i startet Xbox 360 Smart Glasses at my 8.1 RT Tablet, there is a tiles named Xbox One Smart Glasses.

    I use a Finger Tip at this Tiles but there is no reaction. For usually the tiles have to open a new Layer for description and the function to be download the X1 Smart Glasses App but there is no reaction.

    Sorry my english is not great

    Smartglass is more a legacy app and still exists for those on Windows Phone 8 or Windows 8 where the Xbox App does not (yet) exist. For Windows 10, you are right in that the Xbox App essentially replaces Smartglass.

    Great explanation dude, But one quick question...

    Games that require the smart glass app e.g. ryes and other games, can I ditch smart glass and use the Xbox app to achieve the same thing

    So Xbox One games that had Smartglass functionalities? You would still need to keep the Smartglass app around for those. To my knowledge those features have not been included in the Xbox App.

    that's a shame, would have been much better streamlining it all onto one package for convenience, speed, accessibility and space saving e.g. phones

    Well there's very few new games coming out with support for such "Smartglass features" so in a way it makes sense that the new iteration of the companion app doesn't support it, but it's also worthwhile supporting such legacy features if there's demand.
    You should definitely visit the Xbox Feedback site and voice your thoughts on this, that's what it's there for. If the idea already exists there, you can simply upvote it to show your support.

    I've used it a couple of times to control media when my remote wasn't close by. I didn't even know that any games used it.

    Works fine for finding content to watch or music to play, hope it is better worked out for nextXbox though allowing more devices etc. It is not required to play games, so having it does not break anything.

    Its also usefull for internet explorer where you can use a much faster version of the onscreen keyboard
