What's the easiest way to gift digital games?

I and my friends have a preference for digital game libraries. However, we're not sure what the best method is to gift a digital game to someone else. Is there a more direct method than buying a $60 gift card (for example, the ability to purchase a transferable
download code, or even better, to add a game to the recipient's download queue directly)? A method that wouldn't necessarily require the giver to have a console or live account would be ideal.

Gift for friend in a different country.

I want to gift Rainbow Six Siege to a friend in New Zealand (I live in the UK). The easiest way I thought would be to buy a digital code (instead of disc) and send it to him. Most I have found have been region blocked however. Then I thought of a gift card
but I can't do that because of the different currency's. What can I do?

There is no way to gift a game over Live. Really the only way is by buying them a gift card, or code for the game if it's available, and give them the code.
