What the previous message says is correct, in that thread they say that it is a known problem and they are already working on it. In the meantime, we would like to suggest you protect your account by following the steps below:

1. We suggest you log in to your account through this link: https://account.microsoft.com/security?refd=account.microsoft.com

2. Then secure it with updated information (secondary active email account + phone number + Microsoft authenticator).

i fixed it! try this! no idea whether it will work for you but im 99% positive its what did it for me, everythings back to normal.

On the xbox.com site go to 'my account' then at the bottom on the right go to 'xbox 360 profile protection'' .......hit the green 'require profile download'..........i then deleted my profile (profile & items-----i used the cloud to back up saves) again
on the 360 and re-downloaded it and bang it worked. good luck.

here if how I fixed it.

go to my account on xbox.com and then go to manage devices then you go to (see 360 profile protection) then you go and press Require Profile Download on the Xbox 360 consoles that don't require your password at sign-in and the download your profile

Can you check to see if your account is corrupt on the storage device? This could be a cause of such a thing. You can do this by going to the XBOX 360 Dashboard > Settings > System > Storage > Hard Drive > Profiles > Look for your gamertag and see if there
is a corrupt symbol next to it ( ! ). If there is, you will need to delete your profile (the profile only) and then download it again and this should essentially fix the issue.

You can download the profile again by pushing the middle button on your XBOX 360 controller and going to "Download Profile". If you don't see download profile, then that means you are signed into a current profile, please press X and sign out of that profile
and then you should see download profile.
