What would cause my Series S to connect to my LG monitor but not my Samsung TV??

I got an update on my LG which is an UH8500. This update fixed the issue. No update on Xbox One S so that suggests it's an LG problem and not an Xbox issue...Bombard LG with this, it appears to be their fault...

Not true. I have a Samsung TV and I have the exact same problem, first with my s and now with my Scorpio.

Connect the console to another monitor / TV. Check what happens.

From my experience: my old LG LED TV had started giving everything a shade of purple. The problem in the end was not due to my console.

My kids have a Samsung UA55D7000 LED Tv and it is fantastic. Even the series 6 Samsung LED Tvs would do fine, however if you have the cash as someone mentioned look at the 4K Tvs or the Samsung ES series 7 8 or 9 LED Tvs.

Mine will be connected to a UA60ES8000.
