What way is the new store being rolled out?

OK, gotcha. I was off on some details, but I think I've got the general idea.

Here's the long story short: this account has already been put through the process

described here. If there was indeed unauthorized access to the account, it could have been downloaded to a Beta console. Honestly, from what you're describing, that sounds like exactly what's happened. There's not a way to undo that. Nor, unfortunately,
is there a way for us to update your console to be compatible with it.

That being said, this will all resolve itself automatically once the update rolls out later this year. You can also add a credit card or PayPal to the account and pay for content that way for the time being. Again, once the full update rolls out, you'll have
full access to the currency currently stored on the account.

Is that all making sense? I'm going to check with the Beta team to see if there's any other options for us, but it may be that there's nothing to do in this case to wait it out.

I'm sorry about all the trouble your having, I hate to be the barer of bad news but since you signed into your account on your friends console, your points were converted over to your local currency. The same process being described

You should be able to make purchases if your on your friends console but until the official release comes out you wont be able to make purchase on your console.

That's not something your son would have done. It's the new update Microsoft is rolling out for the dashboard. There is no way to revert back.
