    What to do with broken Xbox controller


    I broke the joystick on my Xbox One controller. Instead of fixing it, I just replaced the controller but now I wonder what I should do with my busted controller. Should I recycle it? Does it need to be properly disposed of due to hazardous materials? Can
    it be simply thrown in usual recycling or trash? I can’t seem to find info for the controller specifically.

    What your saying makes no sense, a controller is connected to your xbox, it has nothing to do with the game itself. Maybw your controller is broken?

    Controller update problems

    I got a new wireless controller after my last one broke. While the controller was updating, it stopped and said I needed a USB cable to update it. The controller didn't come with a cable and my xbox didn't come with a cable for this so I don't know how to
    update it. What do I do to fix this?

    Hi there!

    There is nothing particularly hazardous that would prevent you from simply throwing it away but we would always support recycling the device if you have an area that will take it near you!

    Thanks for the tips. I did find that site on my own and none of the suggestions have helped.

    Unfortunately, it just isn't acknowledged as being connected by anything other than the device manager. I do not receive any error messages.

    I guess the controller is just broken? I'm just not sure what would be broken about it.

    Other Xbox controllers connect to my PC fine. This controller connects to the Xbox fine. It also connects to this PC fine via Bluetooth.

    I can't figure out what would be broken that prevents specifically this controller from connecting to my PC via USB and the Xbox Wireless adapter but does allow it to connect to the Xbox. And also allows other Xbox controllers to connect to the PC just fine.

    If it is a replacement contact customer service they should have information on the past repair/replacement explain your situation and I'm sure they will be able to assist. Hopefully you have a spare to use in the meantime.

    Thats not right because the controller should still be under warranty whether its a refurbished one or not. You bought a new console and is covered for a certain period of time .Device
    Service and Repair     should be able to register your whole xbox including the controller. If anything you can request a call back and ask to speak to a supervisor. Explain the situations in detail. Request
