What to do when Xbox games won't start

There was an outage yesterday and the effects could still be lingering. Try doing a hard reset (hold down the power button until the console turns off, unplug it, plug it back in, then turn it on)

Ours won't do anything. All games when started go to a black screen and then back to main menu. No error message, just won't start. Not just COD, all games.

Unfortunately there’s no other way to have a quick way on setting games and apps as shortcuts to pins/groups. This has happened to me as well it’ll be in the group/pins section and it’ll say to see in store. Usually you’ll just have to remove it and add it back to the group/pins tab you have made. You can as well just press the Xbox guide button press Y button to search for apps/games as well.

1. When you say it won't upgrade, are you saying that you're being prompted for an update whenever you start this game, but the update won't download?
   
2. What happens when you try to download the game update?
3. Are you seeing any error codes or error messages?

Every time I start up forward horizon 4, it just won't let me press A to start the game and then It says controller disconnected on my Xbox series s, what can I do to fix it?
