    What is wrong with external hardware?


    Why would Microsoft not allow some games to be played on external hard drives. I have had the same one for years and moved it to my new Series X. I went to play Halo Infinite again on the new Xbox and it won’t work unless I download to internal storage or purchase a new card. What is wrong with my Seagate 5tb external that worked before?

    There's nothing wrong with it, but regular external drives are not fast enough to handle Series S/X optimized games.
