  1. What is the Cause for All my Xbox One S Controllers having Connectivity Issues?

    I own an Xbox One S along with three (3) controllers. Starting in March, all three of my controllers are having connectivity issues. What I experience is the controller will operate like normal, and in mid-game will randomly disconnect. Prior to disconnecting, my controller will lag.

    This also happens when I play games that are split screen. One of the two controllers will stop working (i.e. freeze mid-game) but will not say it is disconnected. Then, the console will show a prompt saying to reconnect the controller. The controller will be on, but will not register to the screen/player it was once operating. This will cause issues for the other user and ultimately we will fail our mission.

    I have tried the following troubleshooting:

    (1) Replaced the batteries with new AA and purchased new rechargeable battery packs;

    (2) I have hard reset the console;

    (3) I have hard reset each controller;

    (4) I have ran network testing to determine if my Wifi Board is failing (it is not);

    (5) I have cleaned my console using compressed air.

    At this point, the only correlation I can find is the update that occurred in February 2023 or March 2023 causing the issue. Can someone please advise if there is another solution to the cause of all three of my controllers randomly disconnecting.

    :)

    What is the Cause for All my Xbox One S Controllers having Connectivity Issues?

    Hi Christian!

    I am sorry to hear about the issue. I appreciate all your efforts in trying to get it fixed.

    Based from the support article below about console system updates for March 2023, it says:
    "Some players might experience controllers randomly losing sync or disconnecting from the console. If you encounter this behaviour, make sure to report this issue after reconnecting."

    Our last resort here is to perform a factory reset to refresh your console system. There's an option to keep your games and apps. There's no guarantee it would fix it but it's worth the try. Be sure to check for controller updates using a USB cable. If wireless connection couldn't be fixed, use a wired connection instead until it gets resolved.
    Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.
    Select Reset console.
    On the Reset your console? Please choose “Reset and keep my games & apps”

    Xbox One s problem connecting to Wireless Controller after last update

    I tried everything already in that guide.

    My Xbox One S controller is running firmware 3.1.1215.0.

    I can't tell if is it the controller or is it the Xbox One S.

    My feeling says it is cause by the Xbox One S update of last weekend, cause it was working before.

    And also, i did a hard reset and like i wrote before the controller was working wireless, till during the setup it did an update and a restart. After this i could not connect the controller wirelles anymore.

    Steelseries Arctis 9X - Mic not working on Xbox Series X

    I had this same issue and after trying it on both my Xbox's and returning my headset for a new one, I realized it was my wired controller causing all of my connection issues. So if you have a wired controller just unplug it and see if that works.
