Unfortunately there is no setting that will prevent him from accessing the MAC address. If you are attempting to set up Timers for when he can and can't use the console you can always update the parental settings and

Set up screen time limits for your child.

By setting it up this way, even if the Mac address is changed the screen time settings will still be placed directly to the account from the parent account and it will only allow him to play within the times that are set.

Regardless of whether it's a child or an adult account, all of his progress will remain even if the child account graduates to an adult account as the saved data progress, achievements, purchased, and owned licenses are permanent on the Microsoft account.

In order to fix this, you will need to create a new adult Microsoft account with 22 years old or older registered in Birthdate. You can use this newly created adult account to manage your son's account by signing on account.microsoft.com > go to Family > then add your son's account as a "Family Member"

NOTE: Please make sure to add your son's account as a "Family Member" and make your newly created account as the "Organizer"

Once it's done, you can configure the “Screen Time” feature that allows you to control how much your son can use the console by signing your adult account to account.microsoft.com > Go to Family > Under Family members > click the “Screen time” link under a child’s name to adjust Screen time settings for that child account.

Under Xbox Screen time, change the “Set limits for when my child can use devices” toggle to “On”.



Configure the allowed ranges of playtime and the maximum hours of screen time using the options here. The “Daily allowance” represents the maximum amount of time a child can use the Xbox One that day. The time ranges to the right allow you to choose the time range when the child is allowed to use the console.

From there, you can also enable the "Ask to Buy" feature and manage your son's content restrictions.

Unfortunately, even if your son's child account turns into an adult account, all of his saved data progress is permanent on your email address. He will have to keep using your email address to continue playing his games and progress. It is not possible to transfer saved data progress from one account to another.

So then, the earlier recommendation to reserve the IP address doesn't really help. If he can always get to the alternate MAC address button in the network settings then it doesn't really matter if I reserve the IP address through the router or through the
Xbox console, right?
