It's a very common problem with the Elite series 2 controller I have noticed. Depending what country you live in you should still be entitled to a repair/replacement as it could still be under warrenty. If this is the case do not try to fix it yourself by
opening it in any way ad this void almost every warrenty.

If it was bought at a store, go back to the store and see what the policy is. If it was bought online then visit whichever store website you bought it from and contact them about it.

If it is out of warrenty i would suggest sending it to microsoft for repair but I cannot help you with pricing. If you aren't going to do that then there are a few ways people fix this kind of issue but explaining it by text isn't the best way to find out,
I would suggest looking on youtube at the remedies but i personally would advise against this

Yeah not a great way to send them out. With the elections it was not the best time to answer any call. I am bothered by the fact that we have no idea how people were chosen. If you had to be gold for 10 yrs that is fine but what about people who may have

It's either what Smwutches was alluding too and you purchased GamePass Ultimate which would convert everything to that automatically.

Or it's the typical scenario where someone sold you a code that was purchased in a shady way and now Microsoft caught the crime. This is more common the you think and why it's always best to buy directly from Microsoft.

Microsoft wouldn't be able to do anything about this anyways since you didn't buy the code from them. You would have to contact CDkeys to get this resolved.
