    What if I reset my Xbox one will I lose my Xbox live membership?


    I am thinking about resetting my Xbox one so that it can run better hopefully but I don't know if it will also remove my Xbox live from my account.

    Performing a factory reset won't delete your subscription from your account. Your games saved data, digital game licenses, and subscription are linked to your Microsoft account via the cloud. Everything comes back when you sign in to your account again.

    So I guess the question then is do I need a membership for Live in order to successfully reset my console without losing anything?

    Your gold subscription is tied to your account, not the console. Since your account is on Microsoft's servers you'll still keep your gold subscription. You'll just need to sign in on the same account.

    To reset your console you'll basically just need to format the hard drive to erase your information. You can find instructions here -
