What happens if I do not update my Xbox One console?

Good question. Yes, I'm afraid you can encounter such issues if you don't update the console specially if it's a mandatory update.

You can set your console to automatically receive updates when it's turned off:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide and select Profile & system (your account icon) > Settings .

Select General > Power mode & startup. Make sure Power mode is set to Instant-on.

Go back (press B on your controller) and select System > Updates & downloads. Check Keep my console up to date.

That has not happened to me, maybe try Updating your Xbox One console or power
cycle your console but other than that I do not know what else to suggest, sorry!

Thank you for the response. I can't launch the offline system update diagnostic tool.

So what do I do with the two updates I had already downloaded, the ones you pulled?

I'm a little confused as to why it was even put up in the first place, but I understand that errors happen, no issue there, really. Anyway, so basically
the only way to update my console will be via connecting it to Xbox Live?
