What happened to Settlers of Catan?

I know I purchased Catan and played it in the past, albeit not in the last few years. I wanted to play a match yesterday but could not for the life of me find any evidence of its existence within the Xbox Live Arcade pages of the dashboard.

I guess games get removed from XBLA?

Why on earth would Settlers of Catan be retired? It was a solid port of an extremely popular board game.

^How can you have too many settlers? The number can't ever go above 10 + your charisma + 1 and you pretty much need several settlers to get 100 happiness...

 

It does appear to be gone. I haven't seen anything about why, but usually games get removed if they fall below certain sales thresholds IIRC. It may have been removed for other reasons as well, like publisher request or the expiration of the license.

support did tell me though if you downloaded it once you could redownload it through your download history

 

that is true for the most part but if the game is removed from the marketplace 100% then there is no way to get it back.

 

Wish they would bring it back. I have friends who want to download it.

 

Will Xbox Arcade PLEASE bring back Catan? I only downloaded the demo and just discovered how to play it. Now I want to purchase the game. Xbox Arcade... BRING BACK CATAN!
