What does the consumer really want? 4K or 1080p high FPS.

I think this is where the next generation console misses the mark. I think people who play RPG type games want that beautiful 4K resolution to see the world and what the devs created. However the FPS scene once that as well but not at the cost of lag. They want that fast smooth quick reaction. They want to feel like they are a pro and shoot like a pro. There should be a setting on xbox series x and all games that you can choose what setting you want. Just like PUBG has in its game. I feel like there are two types of players on the console and they need the same option as PC players. More option settings in the graphics setting to make this happen. Just look at the difference PUBG on XBOX and PC and what setting you can change on PC. Shroud for instance put all his settings on low to get that better FPS as well as to get an edge on seeing people in thicker grass etc. Without these settings you are pushing the FPS scene to go PC to get that better feel and smoothness you need for FPS. 4K and 8K have there place etc but not if you give it up for FPS and lag etc. Most all controller player have now moved to PC. So why should we not? I bought XBOX 1 X first day it came out and it did not live up to the hype until the end. That's why I have not bought a series X. I dont want to hear that if the DEVS want to use this or that. They should not have a choice. That's like saying buy a manual transmission Ferrari but only go to 2nd gear. The PC community can alter which way they want to look at a game as well as FPS. We should get that same decision. Change my mind please.

It's up to the developer to determine frame rates and resolution options. That's why some games have the options while others don't.

Xbox One S is not really a 4K console,

4K Media Content - Yes

You can play 4K Blu-ray DVD's or Streaming services like Netflix in 4K just fine if your paying the the 4K subscription options,

4K Gaming Content - No

As for games, it only plays games at 1080p but it is upscaled to 4K, other wise a 1080p image without upscaling to 4K, will look much worst on a 4K screen than what it would do, if it was only displayed on a 1080p screen,

A 1080p image upscaled on a 4K screen does look a little better than a 1080p image on a 1080p screen, but it still a 1080p image made to fit a 4K resolution screen, which is what the Xbox One S does

Xbox One X is a 4K console,

4K Media - Yes

4K Gaming - Yes

The issues is not the TV, it's the Xbox One S not being an Xbox One X.

OP - this drive by gamers to insist on 1080p 60fps makes me really angry.

I have posted before to highlight the fact that I have a very high spec PC - and I have played BF4 at 4K resolution (native, not upscaled) and with max graphics settings. It look NO DIFFERENT from the X1 version - which I have played on a 1080p TV, a 720p
AND a 4K TV.

We should be driving developers to produce "realism" - which the drive towards 1080p affects negatively.

I agree 60 fps would be good as that does make a difference.

Also - I prefer the PC version because of the higher player count, after play 64 players it's difficult to enjoy the console's version.

Hi Fearless, Like the others Ambassadors stated before, if you are a competitive gamer then buy a Monitor. 27-32 inches is the best, also a high refresh rate (Hz), if you want a better performance with FPS up to 120, a 1080p Monitor is also good.

In the other case, a TV with 4K and around 32-43 inches work nice.

X1 simply cannot keep a games frames per second up, nor its resonution at or near 1080p.

Hince the 'time slice' that nelson just 'threw out there' spoke volumes to consumers about how the x1 could not walk and chew gum at the same time. (figure of speech.)

Want to correct that? Then design and build an actual High Res, 1080p 60 FPS as the norm gaming console which can run apps if need be. Do it not, and the x1 will continue to fall by the wayside.

However, high resolution/fps games must take president. If a games NEEDS to run at lower frame rates/resolutions. Fine, but the hardwire/software MUST be able to do higher res/fps without crapping out for the duration of gameplay.

Runs IE? Apps? Tracking cookies so MS can bombard you with relivent advertising?

It just cant do 1080p at 60 or better fps eh! Seems tracking coockies, advertising. Anything but gaming took center stage in the X1.

Demand better, and they will endever to do better. Believe in, and help spin the spin, and all youll get in return is even more spin.
