    What does it mean when a gamertag itself is red?


    I have recently found a few gamertag that aren't white (I use dark theme) on my Xbox One. Instead, they are red. What does this mean given we cannot customize the color our tags are? I did some research, but none pertained to the gamertag itself. Anyone able to debunk this mystery?

    In my case the first one appears as green.

    I saw a couple of years ago that there was some kind of bug that allows you to change the color of the gamertag. But now that is not possible because the white color of the text is for easier reading.

    The site wasn't working correctly. It doesn't show red on the mobile app, but does on the Xbox Guide via Xbox One S. The gamertag I searched was "lol x gamer". The 2 that were red in the results were "LOL X GAMER2004" and "lol x gamer#4245". Do those two appear red for you on the Xbox Guide?

    that second gamertag is not actually in use. and all of them appear normal colour.
