I did a similar thing, I dug a two block deep trench around the Spawner, six block long, the water washes the mobs into a hole over 24 blocks deep, which is a instant death when they land, I just stand at the bottom collecting a consent supply of arrows
and bones and made a rail track down to the pickup.

Currently, there's no real need to keep monster spawners active. It wont be until version 1.8 that you'll be able to farm off of spawners.

Hi there, you can do what SpiffyCorpse has suggested, and also I suggest adding a Password, I have my Xbox One X setup so I have to input a password from bootup to accessing account information and purchases.
