What do i need to do to enjoy playing MW2 on xbox again?

I understand you need help on your game problem.

If the console is not detecting the license of the game, it could either be that you still need to install some contents from the disc or it could be a disc problem.

Try to check if there are still other contents needed to be installed.

Please go to Games and Apps.

Look for MW2 and highlight it.

Once highlighted, go to Manage Games and Add ons, make sure everything is already installed on there.

If everything is installed and still the game is not working, try resetting the console:

Let's refresh the console's system cache.

NOTE: This will remove the profiles on your console, make sure that you remember the email and password to your account.

No data or game saves will be lost doing this, everything is backed up to the cloud servers.

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

2. Select Settings.

3. Select System.

4. Select Console info

5. Select Reset console.

6. Select Reset and keep my games & apps

This will also help sync the data on your console properly.

If this does not work still, please uninstall the game completely and install it again.

If reinstalling does not work, I would suggest replacing the disc already.

To play the game you need to purchase the Online part of the game as that's actually the game, the story mode it's a dlc for the online mode

I still love to play this game. Sure it has a number of flaws, but what game doesn't? I find it as a whole a lot better than MW2 (though I do enjoy Black Ops more).

Oh, I see. If you want to play multiplayer, you either need to get Xbox Live Gold or Game Pass Ultimate.
