What do i do when my Xbox one displays “No Signal” whenever i try turning it on?

    Hey Casey!

Nice to meet you! I'm Darhyl, an Independent Advisor. I'm sorry you are experiencing this. I am here to help.

Please try to follow these troubleshooting steps:

Confirm that both your TV and console are turned on

Check that your TV is set to the correct input signal (HDMI)

Check that the HDMI cable connections to your console and to your TV are secure

Confirm that the HDMI cable is connected to the "out to TV" port on the console

Plug the HDMI cable into a different HDMI port on your TV

Use a different HDMI cable to connect your console to your TV

Connect your console to a different TV

Power cycle your console by pressing and holding the Power button for 10 seconds to turn off the console, and then turning it on again

Xbox one x No signal when turned on, what do i do?

Hello @dzonis32, I hope that you are doing well!

Thank you for reaching out to us here on the forums regarding this situation.

With issues like these, normally changing the HDMI cables will fix the issue. However, since you've already done that, I would suggest connecting your console to another TV.

If the issue persists, please check no signal troubleshooting guide for more assistance.

I hope this helps you out! wish you a lovely day!

    Kind Regards

    Stay safe, and happy gaming!

When i turn on my xbox, the tv says that there is no signal. What do i do?

My apologies, I forgot to add this:

    * If you have an all-digital console like the Xbox One S all-digital edition or the Xbox Series S, you can do the display reset and bring up the startup troubleshooter using holding the BIND button only.

When i turn on my xbox, the tv says that there is no signal. What do i do?

Hi, Jose! Thank you for reaching out.
I'm AJ, an Independent Advisor for the Xbox Community.
I'm sorry you are experiencing issues with your console.

    - Do you, by any chance, have a different HDMI cable you could try with your console?

    - Besides your TV, do you have any other external devices plugged into your console?

    - Alternatively, would you mind giving these a try?

    --------

    Power cycle your devices:

    • Press and hold your console's power button until it shuts down.
    • Unplug all external devices from the console.
    • Unplug your console's power cord for 5 minutes.
    • Turn your TV off and unplug it for 5 minutes.
    • Plug everything back together
    • Turn your console on and check if the issues persist.

    --------

    Display reset:

    • If there's a disc in the console, eject it.
    • On the console, press and hold the Xbox button for 10 seconds to turn off the console.
    • Press and hold the Xbox button and the Eject button until you hear a beep to turn on the console.
You’ll hear one beep right away and a second beep 10 seconds later. The power light will flash on before the second beep. DO NOT LET GO until the second beep occurs.

    --------

    Xbox Startup Troubleshooter:

    • Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.
    • Wait 30 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.
    • Press and hold the BIND button and the EJECT button, and then press the Xbox button on the console.
    • Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.
    • Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.
    • The console should power up and take you directly to the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.

    --------

Please let me know if either of these makes a difference, I'll be looking forward to your reply.
    Best regards.

HDMI Auto Switch Problem... any advice appreciated

I'm thinking along the same lines as Genchy. Might be a way to prove this theory, but only if your TV displays a "No Signal" message if it is left on without an input signal of any kind... My TV does this and I'd imagine many others do.

If your TV does in fact display a 'No signal' message when there is nothing turned on but the TV and it's getting no signal, then all you have to do is the following.

Once you've verified that all devices are off and your TV has no signal, put your Xbox in Energy Saver mode and turn it off, while leaving your TV turned on. You should see the 'No Signal' display.

After that, turn on your Xbox (and only your Xbox), put it in Instant On mode and then turn it off again. If the Xbox does put out some kind of signal (even if it's just a blank), then you'll just see a blank screen with no indicator.

If this is the case, then I doubt there is much you can do to resolve it, unless you have a remote you can use with the switch. But at least you'd know for sure.
