In regards to recovering an Xbox profile, it is linked to our Microsoft account which means that if the Microsoft email address is no longer available, the Xbox profile will no longer be accessible as well. Have you tried to recover the Microsoft account via https://account.live.com/acsr?

Yes, but they can no longer do that when i use the Account Profile Protection, right? I also recovered my password and changed it, which means whoever accessed my account was logged out and needs the new password if they try and sign back in.

Now it makes sense, but even though it's an Xbox account, it's also a Microsoft account, they're the same thing.

If you no longer have access to that account, you would need to recover it so that you can add another Alias.

If he no longer has access to his consoles then he can't remotely remove them from his account. Here is the quote from Xbox Support website,

If you no longer have access to the Xbox One console where you saved your Microsoft account, you won't be able to remove the account remotely. However, you can change your password, which will disable
access to your Microsoft account on the console to which you no longer have access.

I can't access them either. I initiated the code but it says my xbox one has been registered to another account (which I no longer have access to)
