What are the best safe area settings?< ^ >

Should the arrows completely be pushed off the screen up down left right, or should it be just the tip of the arrow touching the edges? I have always wondered if the safe area selection affects your ability to cover the complete area before you on screen
efficiently. I know the mini map is effected because it can be bigger and closer to the edge or smaller and a few centimeters to the right of the screen edge. What does it do and how does it assist the gamer.

I have it as the tips of the arrows touching the edges, always have.

 

Yep, I always set mine to the very edge on my picture.

 

I always keep mine just a bit away from the edges.

 

I just checked and I am off the edges a bit myself.

 

This game, I believe, describes the safe area as 'the area in which it is safe to display HUD elements'.

It controls where, roughly, elements like the minimap, ammo and killstreak counter are displayed and it's useful because some people prefer them in different places and TVs can display quite differently.

Push it to the maximum, play a game and pull it to the minimum. I'd say you'll see what it affects and that it would have been much easier just to play around with it ; )

 

I do the adjustment arrows to the edge os the TV, maximizing screen size, but I havent seen the other thing Bob mentioned.

 

... It doesn't affect the screen size.

 

^^Yeah, mine actually makes my TV bigger................//facepalm. Adjusting the arrows makes the "playing screen" bigger to the actual TV screen (you know what I meant).

 

I keep mine about a centimeter away from the sides so that I make sure everything is on the screen. Just looks more cleaner however most people have it so the tip of the arrow is just touching the side of the screen.
