what am I experiencing with my elite series 2 controller?

I was having this issue with my Xbox controller where I don't want to call it a lag, but it happens every so often where I'll join a call of duty match and when I move around with the left analog stick, it sways, like instead of an instant response its sort of delayed in the sense that it sways and is a slower response. Could anyone tell me what this is?

Hello Allan, I don't know if this only happens with Call of Duty, or with another game, and also if you've already tried some procedure on the console.

If you haven't tried it yet, follow the steps below.

"1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide, select Profile & system > Settings > Devices & streaming > Accessories, and then select the controller you want to update.

2. On the Xbox Wireless Controller screen, select “…” to check the firmware version for your controller.

3. If it says “Update,” select Firmware version, and then follow the steps provided."

Clear cache

1. Go to the Xbox press and hold the XBOX power button on the console for 10 seconds until it turns off

2. Wait 10 seconds until it turns off

3. Wait 1 minute with it off

4. Turn it back on

i have the elite controller series 1 and elite controller series 2 and the only thing interchangeable is the D-Pad IE:- if you want the silver one form the elite controller series 1 onto the series 2 ... the under trigers and thumbsticks are of a different
designs so will not fit .... i have just got both elite controllers out to make sure i am right in what i am saying

I also am experiencing this issue after purchasing the Halo Elite Series 2 controller, unable to use it in bluetooth as the A button toggles the xbox game bar and there isn't a prompt to update the firmware on xbox accessories app.

I have exactly the same issue with the new Series 2 controllers. I ordered the Electronic Volt version, but had to refund it because of the mentioned problem. Then I ordered the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller, thinking a 150€ controller sure can't have these problems, but I was wrong.

So here I am, stuck my old Elite Series 1 controller that still works after several years, but starts to show wear, and I can't upgrade to Series 2 without winning the series-2-build-quality-lottery.

I am sorry you are experiencing issues playing on the PC while the controller is plugged in via USB.

What type of controller are you using? (Xbox one controller, Xbox Series X|S controller, Elite Series 1 or 2 controller?)

What is the current firmware on your controller?

Have you tried unpairing the controller (completely remove it from your PC) then plug it in like new with the USB cable?
