Westinghouse: I bought the new talon universal remote for Xbox and I can't get it to work to ...

Does come with any kind of code setup?

I wish I had seen this thead before I bought the new remote. as far as I'm concerned it is a step backwards.

I ended up getting a new "white" remote off of eBay. those will act as a "TV" remote. the only tricky part is that I had to try a lot of different remote codes to find the right one. I have a new Westinghouse flat screen and the listed code wouldn't work.

Death Hunts Us: Yes, my controller works fine with the Xbox, no issues there. I also don't believe it's the RF receiver in the Xbox, but as I bought one today, I'll test it once it arrives so I can cross that off as definitely not the issue.
I did factory reset the Xbox... after spending a day re-downloading games!! ...but it made no difference. The remote still refuses to interact with the Xbox. I will try my remote on my girlfriends Xbox One S tomorrow and see if the remote works, as we both
have an S.

Either way, I need a new media remote. Mine is getting a bit worn out, I've had it for a while. The PDP Talon remote looks rather nice.

Ah. I guess the remote is actually called "Talon Media Remote." If that helps.

That Harmony remote looks great but I've honestly never been a fan of universal remotes at all. There's always one button that you can't seem to find on the universal and before you know it you're back to having 10 remotes and the universal one in the bin.
It may be a little more cluttered but it's simple and you know they work.
