Went to go play rdr2 and all save files are gone what should i do?

I apologize, but once the cloud saves or saves progress has been overwritten, we cannot recover them but let's try to re-sync it. For cases like this what we initially need to do is quit the game and perform a power cycle in that way once you launch the game your in-game data will re-sync.

Kindly quit the game and follow the steps below before you re-launch the game.

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​"

I saw some helpful information that may help you.

"To troubleshoot this, try clearing all local saved data and then allowing the console to sync that data back from the cloud. Follow the steps below to do so.

1. Enter settings for your console
   
2. Choose System
   
3. Select Storage
   
4. Select Clear local save games
   
5. Allow the console to restart
   

After the console restarts, launch RDR2, it should sync cloud saved data and allow you to play the latest save on the cloud.

I'm not sure if you'll be able to recover your lost save progress. Do you play with the autosave on or off? The autosave file would be your best bet since you didn't manual save in a long period of time.

I suggest for future RDR2 playing, either to turn autosave on or make multiple manual saves consistently. What I did during my first playthrough was make a save file for each chapter and that was mostly to be able to skip the prologue/play whatever chapter
I want at anytime.

I tried this solution and uninstalled the console companion. I then went back into the game and it still wasn't there. When I go into the "SAVEDGAMES" file in the games files all thats there is a file called "savegameprefs". Should there be a file for my own save game?

Ok .. If this is an important game save for you ( your progress ) .Don't do this .. 1. Go to your Dashboard .. 2. Go to system settings at the right end ...3. Go to memory .. 4. Go to games and content ... 5. got to Fallout New Vegas ... 6. Now you should
see a folder with the game-save data and maybe some dlc... Now delete the File that says ''Savegame'' it should be a small file .. !!! Warning once this is gone .. It's gone .. Unless you back it up in cloud storage or a USB.
