Hi,

I've had this problem for several days now. It's not the controller or the headset as they work on our other xbox one. Is it an issue with the console that can be fixed?

Plug your headset into your controller, plug your controller into your Xbox. Restart your Xbox while it's all plugged in. When it's loaded back up and you're on the home screen you can disconnect your controller and your headset ought to be working
as normal.

Hi,

I've just tried this and unfortunately it didn't work. When you say disconnect the controller did you mean the cable from the controller to the xbox or turn off the controller?

I only disconnected the cable and it didn't work - we still have the same error message.

Hello LClarke,

Can you doublecheck your NAT type on your Xbox? Go into your
network settings on your console and select "Test NAT type".

Aside from that, you may be able to fix this issue by
removing and then reading your profile back to the xbox. However,
I do not recommend performing this step until the
Service Alert has been resolved.

Hi LClarke33,

If the headset and controller work fine on another console using the same account and your NAT type is OPEN and multiplayer tests come back as no problems, then your console's operating system needs to be reset.

Look over this article on how to
factory reset while keeping games and apps. Make sure you have the correct account login information as you will need to re-download your profile during the reset.

Let us know if you still cannot use the headset on that specific console.

Tried 2 different headsets one is an MS authorized chat headset. The first headset was working till about 3 weeks ago, it works fine on other devices. Definitely not a headset issue

I have purchased this headset with the Microsoft adaptor

Xbox One Official Chat Headset

Works a treat, so looks like a definite bug with the 3.5mm jack like you said - hopefully microsoft will push out a fix soon.

Hold old is the other Xbox? They have different generations pretty much every year or two. You may need to download additional firmware for the headset or try updating the controller if possible.
