We should get warnings before permanent suspensions/ bans

My account Was just permanently suspended because of someone accessing it and posting rude pics as the profile pic. Now I’ve lost my account and everything on it aswell as the console itself. I submitted for a case review to the enforcement team thoroughly
explaining the situation and they still refused to lift the suspension. Not only have I been kicked of Xbox love for life but I won’t be able to get my money back out of the console as it is locked from Xbox life forever. Cheers Microsoft for understanding
thousands of dollars gone as a result of a poorly looked into situation from someone with no past offences. Don't waste your time treading on thin ice in the Microsoft commumity. Definately moving to ps4 and not looking back

Enforcement on Xbox

Today i received an email that my account from permanently banned. I went onto the link that they posted and it turns out i got banned for soliciting etc. I submitted a case review and went looking for more information. Most suspensions/bans are 1,7, or 14 days and my type of suspension followed under that list but then it said something about if the action was egregious or excessive bans, it could lead to a permanent one. In my case i tried selling my og gamertag, the guy messaged me about it, i told him how much and what payment. He declined, i said ok, and then we didn't message again AND no personal info was transferred, so in my defense it was not egregious. I have only had 2 ENFORCEMENTS, a good reputation, and no consecutive or reappearing issues. I do not think that deserves a permanent ban from all my years of gaming and achievement i have earned. There is clearly a flaw in the system.

Read the terms, they can in fact PERMA ban you, that's the term you are looking for. That's where they permanently ban the account, doesn't matter how much time you paid for. Break the rules and they can kick your ass out, and theirs nothing wrong with it. Don't do stupid shit and you won't get banned.

I'm all for suspensions, and bans. If people are being assholes and they get suspended or muted globally, they are less likely to be tools in the future.

Blizzard is cracking down on trolls/dumbasses in WoW with massive penalties so i'm excited to see if they bring that over to Overwatch. I could see people on xbox raging they got suspended for a day or can't talk for a day.

Can't play nice, don't play... or you know get over being suspended for a time when you break the rules... also xbox and most other services use an escilation scale, depending on how bad the infraction is, you might get a warning, suspension or permant ban. Then, the next time something happens they can see what you've done in the past and make the penalty worse (going from 24 hours to 72 hours for instance).

They don't owe you this, they give it as a chance to prove you aren't a tool. Break it too many times and you are out, buy a new account because you aren't going online with the old one, moral, be good.Click to expand... There is a difference from being permanently and known you are permanently banned and just banned until further notice or the ban is up in limbo. Thats all im pointing out. If he is banned permanently they should say so(maybe they did).

You are responsible for any activity on your account if you feel that your account was compromised you can get ahold of xbox support at support.xbox.com/contact-us and file for an unauthorized access escalation.

but if the escalations team determines that there was no unauthorized access then their is nothing that can be done.

Normally with unauthorized access the people that are doing the access will like change emails and passwords for the account so that you do not have access to the account anymore.

The warnings are in the code of conduct when you sign up for the account. and you agree to follow the code of conduct.

That would be entirely up to the enforcement team. There's no set number of suspensions you can receive before getting a permanent ban. You can get a permanent ban without have any prior suspensions.

Suspension length can vary based on severity of the situation and past enforcement actions. So there is no exact number of suspensions before it's permanent. You can get a permanent ban without any prior infractions if the action is severe enough.

Once a fix is put in place, the notification about the permanent ban should be removed and either replaced with your actual suspension information or removed altogether. Support doesn't handle suspensions, so you'd have to continue to check the enforcement site for it to show your current suspension.

There's no set number of suspensions that can lead to a permanent ban. You can receive a permanent ban without ever having received a suspension before.
