Depends on which account has the subscription

For example since ee are taking only 2 consoles

If you mean 2 kids playing with each other or only you playing with the kids on another console

Account 1 can designate console 2 as home console and all accounts can use the games and gold subscription on console 2

Console 1 account 1 can use your console while signed onto five ONLY as it is the only profile that can roam

OR if your choose only the children to play on both consoles when account three has to have the subscription and replace acountn1 as the subscriber

This means account 1 can only use the subscription ob console 2 home console

This is how alk consoles work with the exception of the upcoming ultimate family plan or Nintendo's family plan currently out

I feel your Frustration. We have 3 Xbox ones in our house as well. It's an inconvenience to not be able to play on all 3 will the same family account. We are able to play on two at the same time using the Home feature. All of the family accounts on
on the Home Xbox and My profile is on the Xbox in the Den. The family can use my digital games and Live on the home console and I can use the Xbox on the den. But if we want to use the Xbox in the bedroom at the same time it will log me out of the Den, because
I have to be logged into that one for other family members to use the digital games and live.

I wish they had a better solution, Maybe this will be something they can address in the next Console.

The "ownership" licensing thing on Xbox works like this:

Games and Memberships are tied to the account that purchased them. That means, you as the owner of the game or subscription will always be able to play your games, no matter on what console you sign in online to play.

So you can go to any of your 2 consoles or your kid's consoles, or basically any console in the world, sign in and *you* will be able to play your games and benefit from your memberships, as long as you are online on that console.

You can also share your games and memberships to ONE SINGLE Xbox One console, by setting that console as your "Home Console". An account can however only have one Home Console at the same time.

And before you think about alternating the Home Console between your two kids: an account can only change it's Home Console five times during 365 days.

As for a more or less working solution for your issue:

You don't need your own second Xbox to be your Home Console. In fact, none of the consoles *you* play on have to be your Home Console.

Set one of your kid's consoles as your Home Console, and that kid can play your games and benefit from your Gold Membership or Game Pass. That kid can always play alone on the console with their own account, and will be able to play your games and play online
Multiplayer through your shared Gold membership.

As for the second kid: You would have to be signed in online on that second kid's console, to allow the kid to play your games. As long as your account is signed in on that console, the console can also share your Gold membership and games with anyone playing
on that console. It's like a "temporary Home Console", as long as your account is signed in.

However, you won't be able to play on your own consoles during that time, because as soon as you sign in on your own console, your account will be signed out of the kid's console.

So if you plan on playing together with both of your kids at the same time, one kid (the kid not playing on the "Home Console") has to get a separate Gold membership, and their own copy of the game you three want to play.

You do not have to be signed into the home console for the profiles on that box to be able to use your Live Gold features and play the digital games on your account.

But if the profile on the second console wants to play online and your games then you have to be signed into that console with your Profile.

We have this setup at my house. The main issue that it causes is when my son wants to play on our "second" console and I'm playing something on the home console. He would have to log me into the second console and that logs me out of the home console.


Usually My Kids will play games on the Home console and I'll play on the Second one.

The Family Game share feature is only available for 2 consoles. There isn't a way to share on 3 consoles at a time.

I have the same issue at my house. If the Kids want to play on two of the consoles I'm not able to log into the third with my profile, because in order for the Kid that is on the Non-home console they have to have me logged in on it.
