    So I have this problem we're if I vote for a MC server it doesn't Regis but I recently found out that it could be because there is a space in my gamertag so I was just wondering if anyone has any way of solving this because I have to pay money to change my gamertag but I don't have money

    For example vote DC will show up in searches as free and available to use. However no-one can claim it because my gamertag, , exists.

    username suffix at the end of name even though no one else has this username.

    Keep in mind the system doesn't see things like spaces as making a gamertag unique either, so another person may have the same tag, but spaced differently. Either way, if you're given the suffix, then it is in use somewhere on the servers.

    If the system says it's taken, then it's in use somewhere on Microsoft's servers so there is no way to get the tag. As ngocphi said, the system doesn't see things like different spaces as making a gamertag unique. The gamertag you want is in use here -

    Some gamertags might not seem to be taken but are because they exist with different spacing.

    For example the gamertag vote DC will show as free by gamertag checkers and you wont find it on this site. However you'll be unable to claim it because my gamertag,
    , exists.

    The LIVE system sees both of those as the same thing.

    If the system says it's in use, then it is in use somewhere on Microsoft's servers. So there would be no way to get it.

    Keep in mind, that the system also doesn't see things like spaces as making gamertags unique. So the owner may have it with different spaces than what you're looking up.
