i go on xbox this morning like i always do was last on at about 8:30pm UK time last night. when i go to sign in it brings this us (look at image) so i enter my password to it and it doesn't sign me in so i try again and still not let me in. so i turn the
console off completely and re turn on and this time it says to enter password normal type and lets me in i am scared what is a scam does hackers now have my password for my account someone please help

I'n not sure if it matters if it is real of fake. Bottom line is if you get a suspension or ban you will get the email. If you get one in your email and you never get a suspension then I would say that one would be fake.

Given that the domain that email sent from is @microsoft.com, I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the email as "fake" simply because of a minor grammatical error.

You should talk to the Policy Enforcement team to clarify this. You'll find them in this forum section.

Yes this is real it is just a security Verification Request. I has this last week.

If your still worried I recommenced you to change your passwords and re log in to the console

I think xbox couldn't verify the password the cause might be related to your wifi

Try these steps Go to Settings> Account> Delete accounts. Once done, reboot the console and add your account.

Try signing in? seems legit, doesn't ask for your details. Plus maybe not a good idea to show the email which shows your email address in it.

As above, definitely fake. Even if someone had reported you, they would never divulge who it was as that would be a breach of Privacy laws in the United States (and probably most other countried with privacy laws).

Accounts don't get erased....if the breach is severe enough to warrant it, they can console ban an account but the account itself would remain active.

Enforcement would never (far as I know anyway) end a message with "We hope you learn your lesson. Goodbye"....a message like that is condescending, not to mention comes across as childish.

At a guess, I'd suspect it is a bored teenager trying to create angst amongst other gamers
