Hey Jack! I'm an Xbox Live Ambassador and I think I might be able to help you out. My step dad, an Xbox Live Veteran, had this issue. It resulted in him getting a new console. If you haven't voided your warrany by breaking the warranty seals in the case
and the optical drive, Microsoft tech. support should be able to get your console going again.

Send it in for repair, if still under warrany. If not move on to another console.

Not worth the 122 bucks to have MS repair it, for it'll likey come back with more issues than it left with.

Consumer based eletronics are designed to fail, mostely due the type of solder used in them, which causes Silver Migration/Acid residue. That can cause shorts.

Which is why NASA, etc will only use High lead content based solder.

You could try looking up blue/black screen of death and see if your particular problems are simular.

Once an account is banned you forfeit everything on the account. Microsoft will not send you the games. If your other account is on the console you originally used to download the games, then it should have access to the games.
