Warning needs to be given to the users before they try to break some rules.

As title.

I heard about that there was person who bought a new game from the Egpyt server (low price area), and the result is person's account is banned permanently. Is the punishment too serious? We know that the person used some abnormal approach to buy the game.
But at least, you should let the person know whether the action is breaking the rules, and show the punishment in advance to warn him/her.

From my point of view, if you cannot solve the problem from technical aspect, you cannot assume that the users will completely follow what you've designed. The trick is there, why not trying it?

Furthermore, if the person's account have many games, and you've banned the person's account, I want to ask, will you refund the games the person bought previously?

Unreasonable XBOX Live Communications Suspension

Microsoft considers the code of conduct and terms of service you agree to when you sign up to be your warning. They don't give any other warnings before a suspension.

Playstation has similar rules.

[/quote]If you receive numerous force named changes on your account, MS will most definitely ban the account. MS does not give "breaks" or warnings. The warning that you get is when you read the Terms of Use and Code of Conduct. If you adhere to both
of those and don't try to skirt around them by making gamertags that is in outright violation of the rules, or try and come up with some name with an obscure meaning but really is hinting at something that breaks the rules, then there would be absolutely ZERO
issues.

I have been a member of Xbox Live for over 5 or so years now, and not once have I had any actions taken against my account. It's not hard to follow the rules, yet people still come in here and act like it's one of the hardest things to do.

 

Hey there, what do you mean by Egyptian server ? The Xbox live service is not actually supported in Egypt. Also, if you mean that he changed the region and then bought the game, I don't think it's the reason why he got banned as that didn't break any rules
of the code of conduct.

Your guess is right, he changed the region to Egypt, and then bought the game.

The issue is currently Microsoft blocks the way to buy any game from the Egypt region, the purchase will always fail, but the player created some script to repeatedly buy the game via a browser, the trick thing is there's
still success possibility. Then he bought the game finally. But the result, as you know, the account is banned permanently...

You’ve described one user out of millions, who went so far as to create a script to cheat the system, and Microsoft needs to handle it carefully?

The “lot of games” that were purchased in a legal way? Not even a drop in the bucket. One user can be a much larger liability than asset.

No, the user should have been smart enough to realize that if s/he had to write a script to cheat the system, s/he was about to do a dumb thing that could result in enforcement action.

 

Created a script, so tampering with the service, that is a huge violation and a permanent ban is reasonable punishment.
