Want to share my Xbox Live Gold membership with my son

I have an Xbox Series X. My son has an Xbox One. I want to share my Xbox Live Gold membership with him. It appears my only options for sharing the membership is to make my Xbox the "primary" system and he would have to sign in on my console, or I would have to stay logged in on his console. This seems unnecessarily difficult. Does this mean I he would have to have his own Xbox Live Gold membership we wanted to each be online at the same time on our respective Xbox's?

AS explained before Home console is your only choice

For your son but he would.be locked to your home console

For access ro your games and membership

And you will have to sign in online on the series x to play your games

The home.console isn't. Want to be moved for sharing but changes to consoles

You can shqre your games with home consoles.but are limited to 5 a year which is generous since all other consoles only allow3

What about sharing games with my son? Would I follow the same process (buy the game, sign in on my son's Xbox, and then he'd have access to it)?

Again, this just feels like a lot of work around for something that should be simple. My son is in my family. He should have access to everything of mine

No not exactly how it works

So basically you will have to make his xbox one your home console and he can remain on his console and his profile to download your games and Xbox live

For your series x however doing this you have ro sign into xbox live to use your content

You cant change your home console more then 5 x a year

So it's best to sign I'm everyone online on your series x

Once you have the console set as your Home console, he would be able to access any games you buy. They should automatically install on his console or they should show as ready to install in his Games and Apps. You wouldn't need to sign in again for him to access the games.

Can we both be using Xbox Live at the same time on our respective consoles? Or would only one person be using Xbox Live Gold at a time?

Yeah, that is possible.

So, for example, Xbox A is your son's Xbox. Xbox B is your Xbox.

If you sign into Xbox A and set that Xbox as your home Xbox. Then your son will be able to sign in and play online, and you will be able to sign in on Xbox B and play online. Either together or with others.
