Voice chat series x and one s

Currently experiencing issues with incoming voice chat, I can hear game noise just fine. When im at the home dashboard with no games launched i can hear audio messages and party chat fine. However once i launch a game i can no longer hear any audio chat wether its game/party or a personal chat, i have to go back to the home page and “quit” the game from running. I can be heard just fine and in the cold war call of duty, it has an audio tester in the settings which ive used and hear myself during that test but nowhere else besides whats explained above. All of my privacy settings are open and not restricted, ive reset the console and headsets entirely along with my modem/router. This is happening on the series x as well as the xbox one s along with two different style headsets in the wireless astro a50 and the turtle beach 600 gen 2 wireless. I feel like ive done everything but im dumbfounded on what it could be because it was just working fine acouple nights ago.

Update: it works when fortnite is launched but for some reason with nba 2k21 or call of duty it does not.

Depending on what the game is, if what you bought is for the Series S/X then it will only work on the Series S/X. The One was released before the Series S/X. One games will work on the Series S/X, but not always vice versa.

The Series X version of the game will also work on a Series S. Are you sure you have a Series S and not a One S? The Series S/X version will not work on a One.

They released that game as a One version and as a Series S/X version. The Series S/X version will only work on a Series S/X.

No such thing as an Xbox One Series X. The Xbox One family of consoles has an S and an X but are still just Xbox Ones. You need the Series family of consoles. The Xbox Series S or Xbox Series X. These are different from Xbox One S or Xbox One X.

The "One" and "Series" are the console types.
