    Voice chat problem while playing Fortnite on Edge/Chrome


    Well I have this problem with Xbox Cloud Gaming and fortnite and I am out of ideas and where to ask.

    Basically when I play with my friends they tell me that they just hear this weird noises whenever I speak.

    I already opened a ticket from the troubleshoot site linked down below the xcloud site and first the agent and then specialist could not help me and told me to ask to the xbox insiders.

    Here is what I tried and my laptop model

    As I had to change my personal lap for some work I went for an ASUS VivoBook K513EA-BN1196T i5, 12GB RAM and Iris X graphics and windows 11. Not a gaming machine I know and that is why I chose the xcloud version of fortnite instead of installing it and I do not have a console to play it

    Now what I already tried:

    • Disable the AI that cleans the noise
    • Turn off spatial sound
    • Check my drivers and both browsers (Chrome/Edge) are up to date
    • Test with two different headsets the microphone function using windows own tool and some websites like https://mictests.com/ that also records my voice which I hear without problem and very clear without noise. And opening Discord in another tab I have no problems
    • I know I am un muted. I know about the little button on the upper left part of the screen where the mute button is and is muted by default
    • Both browsers have permission to use the mic that's why my friends hear weird noises and also I checked the config. after the online tests and during my play time to be sure I can use it

    Now I don´t know if other games with native voice chat have the same problem because I don´t have the game pass, and I am usure to buy it because I could have the same issues with my friends while playing forza, halo, or other multiplayer games and some of my friends for whatever reason do not like using discord, which is fair, and they prefer to use the in game voice chat.



    I hope I am not breaking any rule or missing some information, if so I can modify or delete the post if necessary

    XBOX ENFORECMENT

    I agree with some of the others.. Block and Report.. ESO has a big problem with open voice chat and they are trying their best to keep the voice chats PG.. It's a two edge sword sometimes.

    Yes, I have tried it on Chrome and Edge and I have cleared the cache. I've also tried it on different computers. I've had this problem for a while and it still doesn't work.

    - Mobile with Chrome

    - Edge on Xbox One

    It's always the same problem. Rotating circle with no response.

    The problem exists for more than a year now - and noone cares!

    But it's the first game that can't be bought on Xbox One!

    If you're not doing already, try using Microsoft Edge, I found issues with the chat using a different browser (Chrome)
