Voice chat issues with fortnite

My kid just bought an xbox series s and started playing fortnite with his friends. With one of them who also has xbox can not hear or talk to each other. With all the others that plays with ps4 or pc has no problem at all. Only with the one that plays woth xbox . We checked that both are in party channel and mic on and all the advise we got on line .. nothing. What can we do?

It's probably a fortnite issue, the only way to use game chat in fortnite is by going to voice chat in the pause menu and turning it on from there, if that doesn't work you can go to audio settings ingame and disable voice chat then re-enable it. This
has always worked for me but if it doesn't I would report the bug to fortnite.

They can try chatting trough Xbox party, this way we will know if the situation it's in game or Xbox account

Most probably thing it's that one of them have the Privacy settings wrong, you can adjust the privacy settings here

if you go inti settings once in fortnite there is a option for voice chat, is this set as party chat as the default method or game chat?

One thing that worked for me was if you start an xbox party and then you join a fortnite party and go to the voice chat tab it should give you an option to switch to game chat. Also with the new season I can hear people party chats while in a xbox party
