Vizio (Routers): Vudu HDR and Dolbyvision not working
Hi EMINENT1,

Doing some research I came about this link:

In that link an employee of VUDU's marketing team lists the devices that are compatible:

Vizio P series HDR doesnt work

For some reason my Vizio P series tv (P50C1) does not work with HDR, even though it has it and HDR on my ps4 pro works fine. Microsoft has said for months that they are waiting for Vizio to patch it but I'm not buying it. The ps4 pro HDR didn't work on
the Vizio P series at first but the patch that fixed it came out in literally less than two weeks after the console was released. Been waiting on the XBOX hdr patch for half a year. When is this going to happen?

4K UHD Blu-ray problems - picture stuttering

Thanks for responding. In my XBox, the 50Hz option is grayed out - I don't have the option to change it. I've also tried unchecking 24Hz, and that results in a washed-out, almost colorless picture. In addition, when I play a 4k UHD Blu-Ray with 24Hz unchecked,
and HDR enabled, my Vizio P55-C1 shows that it is not receiving an HDR signal (in addition to the picture looking bad), so unchecking 24Hz is not an option for me.

For Vizio owners, the Vizio CTO recently posted this update that they are working on a fix for HDR10, as it relates to the XBox, so perhaps this may help, but it would be great if Microsoft could continue looking into the issue as well:

"The second is 4:2:0 HDR10 which is manifesting itself on the Xbox. We were surprised that the Xbox would use the lower quality chroma output and at 60fps (as you know other sources chose better output formats). For instance, when you stream Netflix app
the Xbox is actually converting 24p to 60p and outpouring it in 4:2:0. A rework to our HDR10 video pipeline is under way to handle this one format much better. The code is already working - saw it last week and it looks great. The code is being integrated
into our main branch and will then go through regression testing before release. As part of this work we are separating the HDR10 PQ settings from DolbyVision - so when this code is released you will have 3 sub parts of each major PQ mode (SDR, HDR10, and
DV) which was another request from several posters here on AVS.

As part of this release that includes the 4:4:4 and 4:2:0 HDR10 changes... we are working on further improvements to DolbyVision, set up experience, on screen menus, couple of remaining ACR updates and other general improvements."

Think I've figured it... at least for the m65.

Do not use the high speed or the ARC channels. on the M65 its HDMI 1 and HDMI 5. The ones with the color subsampling options. You may not have those options. But thats what worked for me.

Didn't even read the manual at first. Once I did it became abundantly clear that all the ports are different. I used the one labeled "BEST" not ARC. The high speed port is for certain non xbox one devices.

This does not allow you to display in HDR, at least with the M55-D0. I tried it. As of today, after a long troubleshooting phone call with Vizio support and even longer with Xbox chat support, HDR will not function with the Netflix app or games. I have
not tried a UHD Blueray yet. You can cast with Netflix and Vudu in HDR, however.

If anyone is researching buying a Vizio for the purpose of HDR through an Xbox One S, don't. Don't buy either until you can verify the two TV and System works together.

I am having an HDR issue with my Vizio TV and when I reached out to Vizio support they said it was on the Xbox side. So any info here on HDR issues would be appreciated.

I have the same issue with the Vizio P65-C1. When Netflix loads HDR is not activated, picture and colors are distorted. It happens 100% of the time. HDR works fine with uhd blu ray disc.
