Visual Studio hangs when trying to run C++ UWP project on Xbox One

I'm trying to run an UWP app on the Xbox One. I've followed the tutorial here:

Running the blank UWP C# project works, but when I press F5 in the blank UWP C++ project (I've followed "Starting a C++ project") Visual Studio hangs after showing "Deploy started: Project: App4, Configuration: Debug x64". After a few seconds the whole window becomes Not Responding and I have to close I it (I've already tried waiting for half an hour but nothing happens).

The "Xbox Dev Mode Companion (Preview)" also starts to hang when I'm trying to connect to my Xbox.

I've already reset my Xbox multiple times and even tried it from a different PC - the same thing. What could be the cause for this?

Xbox One developer mode runs UWP apps only from Visual Studio.

It doesn't support xex files. So unfortunately you won't be able to use your Xbox 360 homebrew games on the Xbox One.

Xbox One development kits are different but you need to register at ID @ Xbox and be approved as a developer to obtain one.

When you say "Visual studio" do you mean Visual C++?

If yes, please reinstall all the uninstalled dependencies again and try again

might want to use these web pages for xbox 360 take iso unzip to a file folder named c:\visual studio 2010 express then install visual basic then c++ then c# then web developer windows phone 8.0 sdk with windows phone 7.8 update and then windows phone 8.1
then xna game studio on windows 10

if you can not find the xna game studio device center in the start menu expand new content get the sp1 update for visual studio 2010 and find it in visual c# 2010 express make a file folder named C:\xbox 360 for new project content in c# other wise it will
say access denied

now next there is a little down arrow off to the upper right hand screen go in and add button customize toolbar

and don't forget zune

all on wndows 10 with unreal and unity visual studio 2012 2013 2015 and all other programmer's languages that work on windows 10

but xna game studio only work with xna creators club on xbox 360

and with a 6th gen surfacebook and luxe 100 daz3d is perfect for it with photoreal rendering and 3d stereoscopic rendering at 1080p

As a fellow developer, I appreciate this discussion. Likewise, I have developed and published apps, companion apps, and games that are for Xbox Live. Which devices are you developing for, if I may ask? I recommend developing your Xbox- Anti-Theft app as
a Universal Windows 10 project. When you start from a C# WIN10 project; you can deploy it to all other platforms and/ or devices by utilizing Visual Studio.
