VIP rank went down to 3 when it should be 5

It sounds like you were browsing on the US locale. The requirement for 5 stars in that region is $1800. The requirement for 5 stars in your region is $2800, as stated in our FAQ. This is why you were only placed at the three star rank.

I'm having the same problem; all of a sudden my VIP rank went from 66% of the way to 5 stars as a 4-star, to 91% of the way to 4 stars as a 3-star.

There is a table for MyVIP levels for your region on the FAQ page at (https://rewards.xbox.com/faq/#vip), under "How is my MyVIP Star Rank determined?" The requirement for five stars for your region is $1800.

so I am literally 200$ short of five star? What was the bracket of last years 5 star since I literally was 5 star VIP not even a month ago if you don't mind me asking..😑

Is part of you $1,685 include pre-orders, in-game consumables, and/or subscription purchases? Because those do not qualify for MyVip and would not contribute to MyVip progress.

its part of the 387 games I bought over the course of the time I have been a member which is about 3 years now since I started in August of 2015. And still have been buying since that date. I just got turned back to rank 4 in the middle of January 2017 which
is past the reset date of the myvip rank reset.
