Video Game refund/ exchange

I find both the Xbox and Microsoft support extremely unhelpful and frustrating to deal with.

It's way too automated and when you do finally speak to a person, they have no clue as it's not even in their field.

I bought the wrong game (My bad, I know), tried it out anyway but decided to attempt to get a refund which I was told in an email

"We can’t provide a refund to this request. Our refund policy does not allow refunds for digital game products that have been played or consumed. Thanks for understanding. "

Is this legal? Is there no refund/ exchange policy. I've tried to create a refund ticket but I'm not allowed to because the request is denied even though it's withing 14 days of purchase.

What are my options?

Every email I send in response to the original ticket gets a 'case closure' response within a few hours.

Its legal. Use the example of a sandwich.

You buy the wrong sandwich. That sandwich is clearly labelled and you are told correctly a number of times the flavour of the sandwich as you purchase it. You still buy it.

You take a bite out of it ans then say its the wrong sandwich.

Should the shop refund you the money, they've been selling thousands of the same sandwich accurately for years.

As far as I know, the feature was removed due to abuse. I suggest calling support, this will probably help!
