Video deleted even though it had views

Hi!

I’m wondering if anyone has any advice regarding clips getting deleted even though they have views. My understanding from the Xbox help page is that as long as it had at least one view in 30 days, even if it was yourself, it would remain in the library. I have also read that in multiple other places from other people. I know for a fact that I watched a particular clip several times, probably close to 10, definitey within 30 days (in fact it was right after I took it) and now I went to find it today and it’s nowhere to be found. I’m so frustrated because it was an awesome clip and I thought it would be safe since I viewed it multiple times. Is there any way to recover it? Can I inquire with Xbox support since it shouldn’t have been deleted to begin with? I turned off auto upload to avoid this happening in the future and will now make sure I mark them not to delete, but I just wondered if there is any chance of getting anything back.

How to embed videos:

1) Find online video.

2) Reply to forum post.

3) type [ View: ] < - insert the full web address after the ":" with no spaces in between.

4) Post reply.

The app will not even launch though. I can't even view my screens or videos to edit them or move them to Onedrive. I can't access the app at all. I click on it and get the error I mentioned right away.

First, thank you for your reply. So what I'm gathering is that even though my clips are off the Xbox network, and saved on my external hard drive, they are still subject to deletion? Why even give the option to store game clips to external drives if they will just be deleted anyway? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of this option?Also,

"Viewing it yourself counts as a view and saves a capture from deletion."

This does not apply to me because I've viewed my own clips several times and they still auto-delete.

I'll just save myself the headache and store them locally from now on.
