Very slow Xbox Live Connection

Hello, I recently bought an Xbox One and I am having the same connection difficulties as I was having on the 360. I find it near impossible to join matches and small updates can takes hours to complete. The network/multiplayer connection tests don't find
anything wrong and my download/upload speed and wireless strength are all very high. My NAT is also open.

I am therefore at a complete loss as what to do and wondered if anyone had any suggestions.

If you have a firewall or network hardware, such as a router, you might need to make a configuration change in order for your PC or Xbox 360 console to communicate with Xbox LIVE. This configuration change is sometimes called “opening ports” or "port forwarding."

Xbox LIVE requires the following ports to be open:

Port 88 (UDP)

Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)

Port 53 (UDP and TCP)

Port 80 (TCP)

Note If you cannot chat with someone using Video Kinect, you might need to open port 1863 (UDP and TCP).

If you're connected to a network through your workplace or school, ask the network administrator to open the above ports used by Xbox LIVE. you could always try this by going into your router settings

First off, i have an older xbox, first generation i think. lately when i try to connect to xbox live, the game lags so badly i cant play at all. so i checked my nat type, its open, so i looked at my wired connection, its working fully as well (tested with
other computers) i even ran the network test, it says im connected, from a glance, it seems like everything is working. But once you get in game, the game runs extremely slowly. to clarify, we have already confirmed that the issue is not with xbox live or
my connection, we think its an issue with the system itself or a misconfigured setting, but are not sure. is this fixable? or at the least known? if not, is there somewhere i can go to find out whats going on and have it fixed?

p.s. the waranty ran out long ago, and if the repair is expensive, id rather buy a new one.

 

EDIT: When I now run the multiplayer connection tests it is saying 'Cannot get a Teredo IP address'.

 

Sounds like bad internet maybe...

I am in the United Kingdom and I have the Virgin Media Super Hub 2 which I think is a modem and router. I have one Xbox One connected to it wirelessly and it is telling me to make sure UDP port 3544 is not blocked on my router but I don't think it is after
looking at the settings page. UPnP is enabled and I tried turning it off and on but it still seems to be installing my game very slowly.

 

That router has known issues with xbox live , the fact that the 360 had a hard to leads me to believe it defiantly your equipment.... 1st , try it wired and lets see if that makes a difference ...

 

When forwarding ports does anyone know am I suppose to enter my local IP address or the one under network settings?

I would try "bridge mode" first and plug straight into the main port on the router , that will disable everything but the "modem" if its still bad , its on your isp's end ...

I don't think I have the cable to try it wired, it isn't included with the Xbox is it. I've tried forwarding the ports 88, 3074, 53, 80, 500, 3544 and 4500 but I don't think I have done it correctly because it is still giving me the error message.

if none of that works ...reset the gateway to factory defaults....

Locate the reset button on the back of the device.

2.Press and hold the reset button for aprox. 5 seconds.

3.Release the button and wait for the device to restart.
