Yes you would need to purchase the digital crossplay version of mw3 in order for the vault edition upgrade to work.

The vault edition upgrade simply upgrades the digital crossplay version of mw3 to the vault edition.

I checked the link you put on and how we understand it I should be able to get a refund but they still said no. Think an other phone call maybe needed.😕

Support doesnt handle refunds anymore. Its handled by a separate offline team so the most support would be able to do is point you to the refund form and tell you to try filling it out again.

Ok did you buy just the 30 dollar upgrade or did you buy the whole digital vault

If youi only bought the upgrade you need to buy the digital base game

As the upgrade is meant for digital owners

There is the 100 dollar vault edition that includes the base game

If ypi only have the disk that wont work as it's for digital customers only

If you downloaded warzone that will work with the vault but you still need the base game to link the perks

I have had the same issue so got in touch with Activision and they said it only works with digital versions of the game but not physical games. Gutted as it cost me £30. Tried to get a refund from Microsoft but they have said no because they don't do refunds on things that have been played or consumed. Which I can't so I don't get that bit!! Not impressed at all to be honest. So I hope you have better luck then me.
