    Various Updates to Properly reflect local language is a Meme.


    Again, another patch note blog with nothing in it but “various updates to properly reflect local language”. This line has to become a meme at some point.

    Let’s look at all the fixes implemented for the past 186 days with the number of times it’s been “fixed” or touched on:

    -Microsoft Rewards (3)

    -game installation issues (11)

    -Minecraft updating issues

    -Boot-up animation hitches

    -My Games & Apps filtering

    -capture to one drive update (7)

    -reflect proper local language (52)

    -keyboard button mapping

    -Controller Firmware Update (4)

    -unexpected shutdown of console

    -leaving game pass dialogue box (2)

    -that god awful Wide-Guide update and revert

    -magnifier fix

    -store update hitches (2)

    -wheel controller fix (2)

    -supposedly video playback fixes (2)

    -AUDIO (1)

    -SYSTEM PERFORMANCE (4)

    -GAME GRAPHICAL ISSUES (1)

    -thumbstick calibration

    -game save fixes (3)

    Every known issues section is containing Audio as problem, yet Audio gets one update in the past 186 days. I understand language updates are going to be a lot since there are several languages and several instances across the console where it needs to reflected correctly. But there are 20+ patch notes just saying “Various Updates to reflect local language” and nothing else. These half assed patch notes containing the equivalent to a nothing-burger almost each release are getting old when LONG STANDING console issues on each and every build still exist. And I know it says “some issues take longer than expected to find a fix” but this is insanely out of touch. The Xbox series x is in its worst state in years. The known issues section keeps growing month to month. Let’s see some urgency in prioritizing TANGIBLE updates, and fixes to issues that currently just sit forever in the known issues sections. I want to be able to use my Xbox Series X as intended, instead of finding work arounds or just not using a feature cuz “we’re still finding a fix” almost halfway through its life span.

    As per the recent Insider update release notes (for example, Alpha):

    Various updates to properly reflect local languages across the console.

    Note: Users participating in the Preview may see “odd” text across the console, for more information go here.

    If you encounter any kind of pseudo-loc while using the console, just be sure to use the “Report a problem” feature to submit the issue directly on the console. When submitting the issue, be sure to include in your description of exactly where you are encountering the non-localized text.

    I've seen issues before, related to the Kinect, where the user was unable to download the system update properly. These issues was due to voice recogntion and the wrong language and local setup for his/her region.

    You could also check your console settings so that time and date are setup properly.

    We believe this is isolated to only one scenario: Locale is set to Brazil, Language is set to English. Any other combination should work properly (Including Brazil/Portuguese). The developers are aware of this issue and ideally it will be addressed in
    a title update.

    It can take 24-48 to be properly reflected across all services, give it some time and it should automatically update.
