    Using Xbox Live in China


    Hi,

    I'm from the UK and I'm moving to China for at least one year shortly, I intend on taking my Series X.

    I'm mostly a single player gamer and I've already got 3tb of storage on my xbox so I still have plenty of games to play offline.

    However, if I want to connect to xbox live to play online or download other games would I be able to? I see there is no location for China on the Xbox only Taiwan and Hong Kong. Also, will I be able to buy games on the xbox live store when I get a Chinese bank account. I know some games are banned in China so will the games I've already purchased be blocked? If not can I use a vpn to access the UK store and buy games using my uk bank account while in China?

    Xbox is not available

    China requires you use China-specific Xboxes and their China specific version of Live

    Do you have those?

    Theoretically you can use xbox live service and join multiplayer games even in China (if you pay for gold membership of course) yet as I warn you before China is not included in countries supported by xbox live service and for any eventual problem you cannot
    receive for the moment until the eventual launch of the xbox live service in China.

    China has exclusive Xboxes, and an exclusive version of Xbox Live

    You'll have to get a new one there, and make a new account on their system. Your UK hardware and account will not be accessible

    Have you heard of the great wall of china?

    Theres a virtual verion of it. The great firewall of china. MTU errors are often caused by Firewalls. not to mention you are in china... are you using a chinese xbox/live account?
