Using Xbox Adaptative Controller as a mouse in a PC

Hello,

I am trying to find a way to use the new Xbox Adaptative Controller for gamers with disabilities as a mouse for my son (13, with cerebral palsy), in a PC with Windows 7 Prof.

I know that the Xbox One Controller can be used as a mouse with Windows 10 and I read that the Adaptative Controller has limited functionality with Windows 7, so I decided to try.

No luck so far

When I plug the Adaptative Controller, my PC tries to find a program to use it and fails. Too bad for "limited functionality".

My questions:

- How do I access that "limited functionality" in Windows 7? My computer needs some controller program to understand this new device. Where do I find it?

- If I use Windows 10, will it be plug and play, ie, will it work if I download the program, etc, as if I were using the One Controller?

There is an article here that details how to make a regular Xbox controller work as a mouse. It should essentially
work the same for the Adaptive controller.

If you try it, let us know how it works.

I have the exat same problem with the normal PC / Xbox One Wireless Controller and my mouse Logitech G502. If i use cable instend of the adapter nothing happens, i can use the controller normal and after is turn off no strange bug with the mouse.

For testing i have deactivated in the device manager under network the energy-saving option for the adapter and it works fine, is the energy-saving option on and the adapter is turns off the exact same failor with the mouse is happing again. But is the energy-saving
option deactivatet after a restart of the pc the adapter won't start, so its useless.

I think a update of win 10 is going a little bit wrong?

It was designed to be used with Windows 10 that would be your best chance at getting it to function the way you need it to. Maybe, someone in here has direct experience. If not you can reach out to
Xbox Support for assistance.
