    Using the 12TB WD_Black on XBox Series X


    Just checking whether anyone else has had issues when rebooting the XBox Series X console while the WD_Black D10 is plugged in via the USB.

    Noticed that if the hard drive is plugged into the XBox while rebooting, the initial XBox screen loads, but I then get a black screen. I have to manually power down the console, unplug the hard drive and boot the console without the hard drive plugged in
    for it to boot up properly. Don't have that issue if I use the Seagate 8TB hub, which makes me think it's a driver issue with the WD_Black 12TB drive for the XBox operating system.

    Would like to know whether anyone else has had the same problem.

    Just keep in mind you wont be able to play xbox series s/x gamed off the WD_BLACK 5TB P10. Youd only be able to store them.

    My friends bought same 12TB hd and had same issues so left on quick resume mode then it doesn't have to keep re-indexing when u turn machine on apparently. Don;t have that issue on a PC. So trying that for a few months (registered on WD and login wait
    time for response so asked them a question if normal and safe to leave XB on Standby and won't damage HD. Plus new console out eventually so prob have better disc management etc. Has 3 years warranty so no rush I suppose.
