Using oneguide with my new DTA box and IR emitter instead of Kinect

Hi there, I just received a new Cisco DTA 271HD from Time Warner due to the upcoming switch to digital only. I am able to view the tv through the TV Xbox app, but I am not able to control it with the Xbox controller. So far what i'm thinking
is that this is a brand new DTA and xbox hasn't received the IR codes for it yet.

The reason I say this is because when I tried to manually look up the model, after the "Send Command" thing didn't work, the model didn't come up, the only thing that came up was "DTA170HD" and "DTA50" so do I just need to wait until a new update or am
I doing something wrong. The layout is as follows.

Cable Coax -> Cisco DTA271HD -> HDMI -> Xbox HDMI IN -> HDMI -> TV AND Xbox -> IR emitter cable

How are you having the Xbox One "communicate" with your devices? Are you using a Kinect or an IR emitter?

Either way, an IR signal is sent from the Xbox to the device. I would first be sure that nothing is blocking the Kinect/IR-emitter between the other devices.

Also ensure that in the "Device Power Options" settings (Settings-->TV & OneGuide-->Device Control-->Device Power Options [under Power]), make sure your Xbox is set to send a signal. It should be set to "Toggle" instead of "Nothing".

 

IR port not working with Kinect disconnected... can't change channels with separate IR emitter cable?

I don't want to use the Kinect, but still want to change channels. I used an IR emitter cable and plugged it into the IR OUT 3.5mm port on the back of the Xbox One. But when I select a channel in the OneGuide, I get a pop-up message saying "We can't change
channels. Hold "Home" button for more info"... selecting that just takes me to Kinect setup saying I need to have Kinect plugged in. So can you use the IR port without the Kinect to control my cable box? Could I have a bad IR emitter cable?

 

I try that too and is not working for me either.I just got the boxes today. I hope xbox can get the codes for this Cisco DTA 271HD sooon!!!!

 

Have either of you got any luck? I'm having the same exact problem. Hopefully Microsoft will get on this soon considering the box has been out since April.
