    Using my account that has game pass ultimate to buy a non-gamepass version of the same game...


    My sons and I want to play Ark. I have our 2 Xbox systems set up to family share. I would like to host a dedicated server from a PC. I understand that I cannot use the game pass version on the PC at the same time while hosting a dedicated server from my PC while using the Game Pass Version of the game. We tried. It worked on the secondary Xbox, but the primary Xbox shows the warning when trying to load Ark. My Gamertag has to be logged into the primary Xbox to run Ark as it is the account tied to Game Pass.

    My question is if I buy a stand alone version for the PC using my Microsoft account (that is tied to the Game Pass subscription) can I use that version of the game to host a dedicated server and use the 2 Xboxes to join the server or will I run into the same problem of my account being logged into the game? Don't have a problem buying another version of the game just don't why to set up another account.

    There is no word as to when the offer for the Ultimate Pass will last. As for the Gears 5 game. It is part of the Game Pass whether it is the Ultimate or Regular version. If you buy the DLC and the game then it is yours to keep regardless of your gamepass

    step 1. make your account the home account

    step 2. purchase gamepass ultimate on that account that is home (gamepass ultimate has both gold and gamepass in it)

    step 3. any game purchased on your account can be used by any other account on that same console (excludes season passes or certain account specific purchases like skins etc)

    Hello there!

    It depends on which game pass you have on your account, is it the game pass ultimate, game pass for console, or the game pass for PC?

    If you have the gamepass ultimate, then you do not need to buy anything, you can just sign in with your account and everything will work fine; since the GPU includes Xbox live gold, gamepass for PC, and gamepass for console.

    If you have Gamepass for console, then you will need gamepass for PC so that you can install PC games for free.

    Thanks for your help, but I mean, if I purchase a Game Pass Ultimate subscription, I will have the Gears 5 Ultimate Edition too. My question is; will I keep my game no matter I acquired it by the Game Pass subscription instead of having bought it? Thank you.

    Xbox gamepass ultimate is allows for.multiplayer

    Gamepass does not hence why it's cheaper

    If you.did 3 months for.1 dollar deal thats only gamepaSs

    And you would've.had to have gold .

    separately to play games online

    Gamepass allows you to download games.but not.play multiplayer

    And cloud gaming is only available to the subscriber of gamepass ultimate not sub accounts until the family plans come out supposedly this summer

    On the kids accounts it used to let them download games and play them but now it asks in their accounts to subscribe to game pass.
