    Using Microsoft account in DRM-free games to unlock Xbox achievements


    I recently bought Control through the Epic Games Store, and it is a DRM-free title. Is there a way to launch the game using the Xbox app for windows 11 or with my Microsoft account through some other means to unlock the Xbox achievements for the Windows version of the game? Or can Windows games achievements only be earned if the game is purchased through the Microsoft store?

    Unfortunately, launching your copy of Control using the Xbox app for Windows is not possible. Earning Xbox achievements for this game is also not possible due to the fact that your game was purchased through Epic Games, and because it doesn't have support for Xbox Network features. My apologies.

    Are you signed in with the account that unlocked the achievement inside the Xbox app, game bar and game?

    Is this happening with every achievement or only with this recently unlocked achievement?

    One achievements and challenges    . You will only be able to unlock the achievement once on a Microsoft Account.

    I also received a free Xbox One console from Microsoft. I unlocked 297 achievements, for a total of 7,775 gamerscore.

    It's safe. Just don't give out your account info. Xbox Live or Microsoft will never ask for your account info.

    3 accounts hacked? You getting emails, messages for free Microsoft points, or achievement unlocks, free dlc, etc? Report them by contacting Xbox support if its an email or use the report feature if its an Xbox Live Message. Make not of the email address
    and subject along with the body of the email. They may want you to forward it to them. Also contact your local police department, they may want to look into it as well.
